Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 September 2026
Version: 1.0
Welcome to Fundu.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Fundu, including creating, publishing, viewing, sharing and supporting fundraising campaigns. By creating an account, publishing a campaign, or otherwise using Fundu in a way that requires acceptance of these Terms, you agree to them. Please read them carefully.
Contents 22 sections
1. Accepting these Terms
These Terms apply whenever you use Fundu.
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Fundu account or organize a campaign. A person under 18 may be the beneficiary of a campaign created and managed by an eligible adult.
Where Fundu asks you to actively accept these Terms, such as when you publish a campaign, we may record your acceptance electronically. This record may include the version of the Terms you accepted, the date and time you accepted them, and the account associated with your acceptance.
2. What Fundu does
Fundu provides technology that lets organizers create, host and share fundraising pages. Fundu provides the campaign page and related fundraising tools.
Unless Fundu expressly introduces a different payment service in the future, money sent to support a campaign goes directly from the supporter to the receiving method selected by the organizer. Fundu does not currently take possession or control of campaign contributions.
Fundu is not the campaign organizer or the campaign beneficiary. Fundu is not a bank, an escrow provider or an investment platform.
Fundu does not guarantee:
- that a campaign will achieve its goal
- that every campaign statement is accurate
- that an organizer will use funds exactly as described
- that supporters will recover money after making a direct transfer
Fundu remains responsible for operating its own platform in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.
3. Accounts and account security
You must provide reasonably accurate account information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
You must not:
- improperly share your sign-in details
- attempt to access another person’s account
- provide Fundu with banking passwords, mobile-money PINs, wallet passwords, card PINs or passwords for other payment services
- provide one-time codes (OTPs), except through a legitimate sign-in or verification process that specifically requires one
If you reasonably believe your account has been compromised, please tell us promptly at funduhelp@gmail.com.
4. Creating a campaign
Organizers are responsible for the information they publish. Campaign information must not be deliberately false or materially misleading. This includes the campaign’s:
- title and story
- fundraising purpose
- beneficiary information
- goal
- images, videos and updates
- receiving information
- organizer-reported fundraising totals
If you raise money for another person, organization, project or cause, you must have appropriate authority or permission to do so. You must not impersonate another person or organization.
5. Receiving methods and payment information
Organizers may add supported receiving methods so that supporters can send money to them directly. Depending on the functionality available through Fundu, receiving information may include bank account information or other supported receiving methods.
You are responsible for making sure that:
- your receiving information is correct
- you own or control the receiving destination, or are properly authorized to use it
- you are legally permitted to receive funds through it
Receiving information you select for a campaign may be displayed to people who can view that campaign. Only provide receiving information you are comfortable making available to the campaign’s intended audience.
Fundu will not ask for your banking password, mobile-money PIN, wallet password or similar secret credentials merely to display a receiving method.
Fundu does not currently verify every receiving method. If Fundu later verifies particular receiving methods, it will clearly identify what has been verified.
6. Public and private campaigns
Public campaigns may appear in Fundu’s public discovery surfaces, including Explore.
Private (unlisted) campaigns are excluded from public discovery, but may still be accessed by anyone who has the campaign link.
Private or unlisted does not mean confidential. Anyone with access to the link may be able to view and share the campaign. Do not publish information you would not want the campaign’s intended audience to see.
7. Supporting a campaign
Supporters are responsible for deciding whether to support a campaign. Before transferring money, please review the campaign information and the receiving information.
Unless Fundu expressly provides a Fundu-operated payment feature in the future, support is sent directly to the organizer’s selected receiving method.
A direct transfer does not mean Fundu has verified the organizer, every statement in the campaign, the receiving destination, or how the funds will ultimately be used. If Fundu later introduces verification, verified elements will be clearly identified.
8. Fundraising totals
Campaign organizers may manually record or update the amounts they have received. Where Fundu displays an organizer-reported amount, it should not be read as Fundu independently confirming that the amount was actually received.
Fundu may introduce ways to verify certain contributions or information in the future. If it does, verified information and organizer-reported information will be clearly distinguished.
9. Direct transfers, refunds and disputes
Because campaign contributions currently go directly from supporters to organizers without Fundu taking possession of the money, Fundu cannot itself reverse or refund those transfers.
If you want a direct transfer returned, you may need to contact, as applicable:
- the organizer
- your bank
- your mobile-money provider
- your wallet or payment provider
- another relevant receiving or payment provider
Fundu may still receive reports, investigate misuse of the platform, restrict campaigns or accounts, preserve relevant records, cooperate with appropriate lawful requests, and take other appropriate platform-level action.
This section concerns campaign contributions. Hosting fees paid to Fundu are separate and are covered in section 10.
10. Hosting fees, cancellations and promotions
Fundu may charge organizers for hosting campaigns or for other clearly identified Fundu services. Before charging you, Fundu will display the applicable price and material purchase information.
The current standard hosting price is ₦100 per hosting day. Organizers pay for the number of hosting days selected for their campaign.
Hosting fees for hosting that Fundu has already provided are generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or where Fundu fails to provide the purchased service.
Where you have paid in advance for hosting that has not yet been provided, cancellation and any applicable refund will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the cancellation terms presented at the time of purchase.
Fundu may offer promotional codes, discounts, free periods or other promotional offers. Promotions may be subject to eligibility requirements, availability, duration and other conditions communicated with the promotion. Promotions do not permanently change Fundu’s standard pricing unless Fundu expressly says so.
11. Campaign content and intellectual property
You keep ownership of content you own. You must have appropriate rights or permission to upload content that belongs to someone else, including text, photographs, videos, graphics, logos and other campaign materials.
By uploading campaign content, you grant Fundu a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, format, display and distribute that content only as reasonably necessary to operate Fundu, display your campaign, allow it to be shared, and provide Fundu’s services. Uploading content does not transfer ownership of it to Fundu.
If you believe content on Fundu unlawfully infringes your rights, please contact us at funduhelp@gmail.com.
12. Prohibited campaigns and misuse
You must not use Fundu for:
- fraud or scams
- deliberately false or materially misleading campaigns
- impersonation
- unlawful activity, including receiving or moving the proceeds of unlawful activity
- threats, harassment or abusive conduct
- unlawfully infringing another person’s rights
- using another person’s receiving information without authorization
- attempting to compromise Fundu’s security
- manipulating campaign totals or platform functionality
- any other serious misuse of Fundu
Fundu is a fundraising service, not an investment crowdfunding platform. Campaigns must not offer shares, equity, securities, interest, guaranteed financial returns, profit participation, investment contracts or similar investment benefits, unless Fundu later expressly introduces a legally compliant service that permits them.
13. Comments and community conduct
Please communicate respectfully when using community features. You must not use comments or other community features for harassment, threats, spam, scams, deliberately misleading or unlawful content, or publishing another person’s sensitive or private information without appropriate authority.
Fundu may moderate or remove content where reasonably necessary to enforce its rules, protect users or comply with applicable law.
14. Reporting campaigns and misuse
You may report a campaign or activity you reasonably believe involves fraud, impersonation, misleading information, prohibited activity, misuse of receiving information or another breach of Fundu’s rules. To report a campaign during the beta, email funduhelp@gmail.com with the campaign link and the reason for your concern.
A report does not automatically establish wrongdoing. Fundu may review the available information and take appropriate platform-level action.
15. Moderation, campaign removal and account suspension
Fundu may review, restrict, unpublish or remove campaigns, and may restrict or suspend accounts, where reasonably necessary because of a breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, impersonation, security concerns, unlawful activity, serious misuse, legal requirements, or risks to Fundu or its users.
Where reasonably appropriate, Fundu may ask for additional information before or after taking action.
16. Ending campaigns and closing accounts
Organizers can end a campaign early. An ended campaign remains viewable with its story and updates, but no longer asks for support.
Ending a campaign does not necessarily mean that all account or campaign information is immediately deleted. Account closure, deletion and the retention of personal information are explained in our Privacy Policy.
17. Third-party services
Fundu relies on third-party services for things such as hosting, infrastructure, sign-in, storage, email and security.
When you use a third-party receiving or payment service to send or receive money, that service may have its own terms and privacy practices. These Terms do not replace the terms that govern third-party services.
18. Privacy
How Fundu handles personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
19. Liability and consumer rights
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Fundu is not responsible for losses arising solely from an organizer’s acts or omissions, representations, use of funds, or direct transactions between organizers and supporters.
Fundu does not guarantee that a campaign will achieve its goal or that every statement made by an organizer is accurate.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or limits any liability, remedy or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or limited. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights or remedies available to you that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under applicable consumer-protection law.
20. Changes to these Terms
Fundu may update these Terms as the service, legal requirements, security requirements or operational requirements change. This page always shows the current “Last updated” date.
Where a change materially affects your rights or obligations, Fundu may give reasonable notice where appropriate and ask for renewed acceptance where required.
21. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and your use of Fundu are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
If a dispute arises, you and Fundu should first try in good faith to resolve it directly.
Nothing in these Terms prevents you from exercising rights available under applicable Nigerian law, making a complaint to an appropriate regulator, or bringing a matter before a court of competent jurisdiction. Where appropriate, you may also be able to make a consumer complaint to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
